200K

Hi. I have a friend (equity analyst) with 7-8 yrs of experience (no MBA) fretting about his $200k base. He told me that the bonus is usually anywhere between 50-100%. I don't know much about LO, so is he right to be upset?

My base is 150k and I'm class of '21 (undergrad). Did sell-side for a year before making the switch last summer for what it's worth. Pretty sure I'm getting raised 5-10% this year on base so could be a bit low? That said my bonus is only ~33% of base so his total comp is way higher than mine. I haven't a clue in the world as to what people in this industry get paid. I know it varies, but some other datapoints would really be helpful for all of us juniors on this forum because we're clueless haha

Location is a big factor. A total package of 300-400k sounds reasonable to me for a 7-year non-MBA/CFA at a non-NYC city.
