Interesting... Wonder what was the purpose of the rebranding or if it was part of the broader organizational restructuring

 

I worked in the XIG group at GS this summer. Main reason for the rebranding was that "AIMS" (alternative investments and manager selection) didn't totally encompass what the groups were working on. Instead, "external investing group" was more accurate as to the work that was being done. Mostly fund of funds, so external investments. Hope that helped!
