Interview Follow Ups?
Hi everyone, hope Friday is going well.
context: I interviewed with a couple of AM firms last week, both of which said they’d get back to me this week. One firm’s interview was with the hiring manager vs. the other firm where I talked to an internal recruiter who passed my background onto the hiring team to decide on 2nd rounds. I haven’t heard from either of them just FYI
question: should I follow up on Monday/Tuesday to reiterate my interest? I obviously don’t want to come off as pushy/desperate or else I would’ve followed up this week. I sent both interviewers a customary thank you email within 24 hours, so this would be a 2nd follow up for each. Thoughts?
Associate 1 in IB - Gen, bummer your thread hasn't had a response yet. Maybe one of these threads could point you in the right direction:
More suggestions...
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
I think an email this week is fair game.
Do people generally send these to HR or the hiring manager?
Agree. I used to just follow up with the person I spoke to last. If there are multiple people involved, I normally went to the HR responsible for the specific posting. Just note, if you have to follow up it could mean a few things:
1. you're not bad enough to drop but not good enough for inclusion into tier 1 list of candidates
2. HR is so goddamn lazy
My experience, latter is much more prevalent than former... So keep your chin up, follow up. Good luck!
