Need advice on next career move

Hello fellow WSO users. I am seeking advice on some next steps to my career path, and any insight would be helpful!

My background: located in Chicago, graduated in 2012 from a well known undergrad program with a degree in finance and accounting. Accepted an offer from a mid-market accounting firm (think GrantThornton, RSM US, etc.) in their advisory division. Specifically, I do risk consulting work for middle-market financial institutions. Mainly risk assessments, process reviews, internal audit, credit review, etc. Have been in the same group for 7 years and made Manager this past Fall. I don't see myself sticking it through to Partner, hence the question as to my next move.

Given my work was closely involved with financial institutions, I am thinking of looking for some sort of finance role at any one of the big banks that have a presence here in Chicago. What recently caught my attention was the consumer division at GS (Marcus). It seems like a nice intersection between banking and tech. Does anyone know someone working with Marcus by GS here in Chicago? Good place to work? Any thoughts on what kind of other roles i could look for at larger banks?

appreciate any and all input!
