CCBSI mainly serves mid-to-small cap businesses with loan underwriting, there may also be some credit risk analysis, admin and ad-hoc tasks.

Do note that CCBSI sometimes fights for clients with the corporate bank, especially those that are growing fast (TMT) because most likely they will fall under corporate bank scope in a few years and potential future financing needs (DCM) make them attractive targets to the corporate bank as well.

Isn't CCBSI corporate banking so what do you mean that CCBSI "fight for clients with the corporate bank"? MMBSI is the commercial banking arm i believe.

They call it corporate banking but other banks, like wells, would refer to it as midcorp.

CCBSI is not housed under IB, it's housed under commercial banking. MMBSI is also commercial banking but can run deals up in the $1B+ range on coverage mid-market groups. It's weird how JPM does deals with client's revenue/size. Most of the basic 20-500MM and 500MM+ revenue range is just solely on what you typically will see, but many times you do get put into bigger deals in both CCBSI and MMBSI.

JPM does things very complicated, most LinkedIn people spin CCBSI to pretend its lev fin when it's basically doing the bitch work from lev fin and credit risk.

Worked at JPM CCBSI before moving to IB

CCBSI is housed under the commercial bank and you’ll typically cover clients w/ revenues between $500mm - $2B+ (have also worked on larger IG names).

As an analyst you wear many hats and work directly with CCBSI coverage bankers, levfin and credit risk. The analyst program is interesting as you are staffed on vanilla CB deals (RC/TLA/ABL) and LevFin transactions (TLB/HYB). You will work on M&A UWs and sometimes have to also work with TS, FX, and IRD to include their materials in pitches.

All-in comp is slightly lower than LevFin as an analyst due to bns delta, but you do get the same experience when working on those deals and attend the FT IB training program in the summer when you join.

Have seen peers exit to MMBSI, MBA, other banks doing CB, promo to LevFin ASO, IB, Private Credit, Consulting, and CorpDev / Strategic Finance.
