Analyst comp. (Canada)
Hey all,
What is the general comp. range for say, 1st, 2nd year analyst. I have no clue and am curious. Im guessing the base isn't substantial, maybe $115? $150?
What about comp? Another 50-100% on a good year?

Career Resources
Friend at a Big 5 bank - base was $70, bonus was 100% of base, I assume this is top bucket. Friend at a BB bank - Base was $85, bonus was marginal (prob $20K)
115?...150?... isn't substantial?... r u out of your mind???
first year analysts dont even make that when including signing bonus AND year end bonus...
Alex_Kap is right about the base..$70,000. As for the bonus, your friend lied to you... bonus is between 10-50% for first year analysts at Big 5... and i actually i mean big 2.. RBC and TD
allow me to LMAO for a second....hahahahahahahahahah!
Bay street first year analyst making 115k???? WALL STREET ANALYSTS DONT EVEN MAKE 115K IN BASE!!!
credtiderivatives is right.. base 70, max bonus 50%
i look forward to hearing how you came up with 115k and 150k!!
K, first of all, this post is in ER forum, not I-banking. So, yes, I mean 1st year analyst, not associate.
With that said, I don't think 115k is unreasonable, I know an associate whose base is 95k.
Just trying to gauge what, say a 1st year ANALYST is comped, vs. a 3 or 4 yr ANALYST. Yes, not Associate, Analyst.
Wow.
Sorry thought this was for IB... not ER, haven't asked about bonus from ER friends.
Also - the poster may be refering to Research Analyst, not associates, so maybe a comp of 115K base is possible. I don't know though.
The base is 65 with 5 signing for the Canadians, the Globals range from 70 to 95 base. Bonuses were quite different last year among the Big 5, some saw 50 for top bucket while others saw like half of that.
Max bonus 50%? Sorry, I don't buy that, unless you only mean for ER.
what are ER and capital market hiring numbers like this yr?
Calm down dude. I really don't think it's unreasonable for people to misinterpret -- not every firm uses the Analyst>Associate ranking in ER, and on top of that, people here might also just assume that you didn't know that, either.
