Are these formal enough?
I am buying dress shoes and because of a weak ankle, I need to wear boots. I am going into investment banking and these will be worn with a suit for interviews, in the office, and networking events. Are the Allen Edmonds Fifth Street boots in the attached picture formal enough for these purposes? Is the design on the toe not formal enough? I have had a very tough time finding footwear for my weak ankle and these are the most formal I could find.
Thanks for the help and advice!
They're formal enough, but if you're looking for ankle support I don't think these rise high enough
If you're willing to spend some extra money (to the tune of almost $250 more) I'd recommend a pair of Carmina balmoral boots in black calf. www(dot)carmina(dot)telemaco(dot)es/articulo.asp?idarticulo=4436151
I am in Canada and those would take to long to get here as I need them in asap.
could you wear regular shoes with a brace?
I could but what would be the point of that as the boots look like shoes with pants on. Also, shoes look weird on me because I tend to tilt on the sides of them because there isn't sides to hold my foot in.
I would buy them. You can never go wrong with AE. I own 8 pairs and they are all amazing. Your pants will cover it so don't worry it's a boot. Braces might be a good idea but if you can only wear boots try these.
Okay thanks. The design on the toe is formal enough though? That's what I am worried about.
You, as an intern, own 8 pairs of Allen Edmonds?
You are way over-thinking shoes
