Blocking users on WSO

Should WSO have an option to block certain users from seeing your profile and posts (à la Facebook)? Those certain users obviously being colleagues. I'm in a small boutique and one of my colleagues recently made an account on WSO. If by any chance he comes across one of my old posts, it'll be pretty clear who I am and I'd rather not have that happen.

Thoughts?

There's no reason anyone would ever block you, so nothing to worry about... unless you're a colossal douche.

"You stop being an asshole when it sucks to be you." -IlliniProgrammer "Your grammar made me wish I'd been aborted." -happypantsmcgee

I don't have anything to hide in general, folks. But obviously if I'm posting anything less than glorious about my workplace, even if it be a sarcastic comment, I'd prefer that it stays anonymous. Who wouldn't? Take it in this context.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Hmm, if you're concerned about anonymity, why not have an option to switch over to an alter-ego? In other words, you'd be able to post under a different username without having to log in and out. So, your main username could be Calvin and you'd switch to your alter-ego, Stupendous Man, if you wanted to vent about work or be a little extra douchey. Not exactly the easiest thing to code up from WSO's perspective, but seems like an interesting concept to me.

"My caddie's chauffeur informs me that a bank is a place where people put money that isn't properly invested."

Might work, but could be too cumbersome for most people to use. Like you said, a long short from an implementing perspective anyway...
