Exits from tiny HF?

I’m currently working as a research analyst at a tiny (100m AUM) HF and am wondering what realistic exit ops look like if I want to leave within the next 2 years.

Prior to joining the fund, I worked in B4 audit for less than 10 months and finished the CPA exams.

I understand it may be very difficult to lateral to a larger fund, especially if the fund doesn’t grow, but would I have a decent shot at BB ER or MM/Boutique IB roles?

In my current role, I have fairly frequent meetings with ER coverage teams from from over 10 different banks, including most BBs. Would it make sense to start networking with them, and should I start studying for the CFA?
