A lot of the questions will likely be on why you are interested in working at a hedge fund. They will likely ask questions on what skills you currently have (i.e. Excel and financial statement knowledge) and your ability to do research, so be prepared to talk about any experiences around those.

I can't imagine they have high expectations on your finance skillset given you are currently a freshman, but they could ask basic finance / valuation / accounting questions.

  1. do you invest? your top 2-3 ideas and thesis? how do I make money?

  2. why do you like investing

  3. what investors do you follow and why

  4. how do you value stocks

  5. what are your favorite investing books (1-2 psych, maybe munger, maybe some book on shorting etc.)

  6. what’s on the front page of the wsj, index levels, and economic indicators

  7. why did you decide on x school. have a great story if not a top school

if you think these are easy, then you shouldn’t have issues landing a gig but if you think these are easy and don’t land a gig, you are likely overconfident ( see point 5 and read a psychology book)
