Orange County / Los Angeles shops and headhunters

Hey guys,

I'm looking to jump to a hedge fund out west (preferably Orange County, LA if I have to). Does anyone have a list or database they can share? Better yet, if anyone can make an intro, it would be much appreciated.
Also, what headhunters can I reach out to?

Same dude from the other thread btw - HSW JD/MBA, McKinsey, etc.

Bumping this, any insight would be immensely helpful

TGS is in Irvine and is a super-secretive quant fund but is widely believed to have returns even better than RenTech. You'd need to be a math or computer PhD, though.

Or there's Pimco in Newport Beach which pays pretty well and might be better for an MBA type person. Or maybe Farallon if you're ok with moving to San Francisco.

Man I would love to be at TGS. But I’m not a quant (though if they are looking to diversify personnel/strategies I’d be all for it).

pimco is a good one - need to see what’s out there.

They themselves are the only ones hinting at such a claim. I suspect their returns (as measured in dollars, not percent) are good but in line with any of the other big quant firms, and not as amazing as people think.
