Investing in the US before moving abroad

Looking for some personal finance advice here.

I am interested in pursuing an investment opportunity within the US (preferably real estate), but I will most likely be living in Europe within the next 5 years. Should I let this deter me from building forms of passive income while still living in the US? Seems like there is so much information out there in regards to international investing and tax structuring that it can be information overload. Just trying to get a sense of what other people have done.

A bit of background on me - I currently live in the US; working in consulting/finance. I already own one piece of real estate that seems to be working out well so far but I am open to learning about different types of investments as well. Thanks in advance!
