Australia Natural Resource IB Cov?

Current intern in IB. I am interested in natural resource (M&M, O&G, etc) coverage (currently doing this right now and loving it) and I was hoping someone could provide me with some insights regarding top Australian shops for nat resource coverage?

Places that come to mind are macquaria, rbc...

Based on the most helpful WSO content, when it comes to natural resource investment banking coverage in Australia, Macquarie is indeed a significant player. They have a strong M&A team, a big balance sheet, and a Leveraged Finance (LevFin) team, which, while its focus and strength in natural resources specifically aren't detailed, contributes to their overall capabilities in the sector. Macquarie's reputation and resources make it a key institution in the natural resources sector, not just in Australia but globally.

Another firm that comes to mind, as you mentioned, is RBC (Royal Bank of Canada). While the context doesn't specifically mention RBC in relation to Australia's natural resources sector, RBC Capital Markets globally has a strong presence in natural resources, including mining and metals, oil & gas, which could suggest they have a significant footprint in Australia given the country's rich natural resources sector.

It's also worth noting that the natural resources sector, including metals & mining and oil & gas, is a significant part of the Australian economy, attracting a wide range of investment banking activities. Firms with a strong global presence in these sectors are likely to have a notable presence in Australia as well.

For more specific insights into top Australian shops for natural resource coverage, it would be beneficial to explore discussions and content on Wall Street Oasis that focus on the Australian market, as professionals and insiders might share their experiences and rankings of firms based on their deal flow, sector expertise, and market impact in the natural resources domain.
