Canadian Big 6 Base Salaries
I know that this year some of the US banks did reraises pushing up first year analyst pay to $110k. I was wondering where the CAD Big 6 is sitting at right now. From what I last heard they were paying 95k. Do you think there will be a reraise to what the US banks are paying?
Also, does anyone have any ideas on how the pension funds and buyside shops are paying in Canada. There qas a helpful thread that was done pre-COVID on Bay Street comp, that is probably outdated now.
Are you quitting usd or cad for the 95k?
I am quoting in the local currencies. So Big 6 in CAD and the US BB/EBs in USD. Although, I am assuming the Big 6 in thr US offices would pay the same 95k but in USD.

What are the salary levels in the US?
Most US banks are at 110k for first-year analyst, and some banks such as EVR (120K) and CVP (130k) are even higher.
I meant for Canadian banks in the US
Dont quote me on this, but I am guessing it is 95k USD, but if anyone has heard otherwose, please let me know.
any data points on bonuses for analysts that started in Jul / Aug 2021?
At pretty much any level or area of finance, comp is lower in Canada. That being said, CDN banks pay a much higher proportion of the total comp in the form of bonus (ie. total comp might be aligned, but with lower base / higher bonuses)
95k base for my bank

Is it only 95k in Canada? I’m in the US and it’s 100k
Thank you for sharing - this is really helpful
Did you hear anything about them formally changing the base to 105k, or do you feel that is was more of a one-time thing.
