Dartmouth Partners vs Greenwich Partners

Looking to move into IB/M&A later this year, just wanted to know what people's opinions are on Dartmouth and Greenwich as recruiters. Have heard different things from different people. Who's better/worse and would like to hear if anyone has person experiences with them?

Most Helpful

I mean Dartmouth haven't been too bad to me to take the other side of this. They're reasonably responsive and if you reach out they'll generally be helpful and have some legitimate mandates.

Greenwich is a bit of an odd one. I think it's just James Heath and his other half as secretary. He's a pure volume play. Minimal responses and no feedback, even for candidates that get well-progressed. Once you get on his mailing list, you'll get random emails about all sorts of opportunities which may be seeemingly irrelevant. To be fair, this is his business model - junior market; CostCo recruitment.

The much more tailored approach will come as you get more senior.

DP is just a recruitment boiler room.

High churn and full of CV pushers.

Lots of firms have kicked them off their PSL.

Greenwich - James Heath doesn't give a shit what you want, he just mass emails any mandates he gets, whether they fit you or not.

Honestly I think it's about finding recruiters who recruit for your target firms and not expecting recruiters to be any good at all. Low expectations avoid disappointment.
