How do return offers at BBs work? UK

Hi all,

I'm interning at Citi this summer and I am having quite bad return-offer anxiety. I was wondering how the process works? There are not a lot of interns this summer but I always have that nagging fear that for some reason I could be ranked at the bottom and be cut.

What are some things I can do to ensure that doesn't happen? And what is the process generally in how returns are decided? Does HR play a big part in saying "yes" to someone (as offers are generalist)?

Sorry if this is ramblely but would really appreciate advice! :)
