Master student with less than 2 years non-finance experience
Hi guys,
Just wondering.. for the above situation, should the person apply to BBs at Analyst level, would he have to start as a 1st year analyst like everyone else? What are the chances that he would start as a 2nd / 3rd year Analyst?
I would say 1st year analyst only unless that masters was in business administration (then he or she would start off as an associate).

even with an mba, without prior corp/inv banking experience, it's a tough sell for an assoc position at a bb (unless you went to a top school or was a professional athlete/military in your prior life). try a boutique or a regional
What if a person has 2 summers of analyst experience in banking but no actual full-time experience, but has an MBA, can that person go in directly as an associate? (and yes, some MBA programs do accept people without prior work experience) Thanks.
