Mastering Resume Screens: How to Land That First Interview
Before that first round of interviews, you have to submit your resume. Then, seemingly at random, you're either invited to proceed as a candidate or recieve the highly sought after "Thank you for applying" email. What strategies can boost your chances through this "pre-round" where resumes alone can make or break your opportunity? Does having a prestigious university like Harvard listed help, or are referrals and networking more effective? Is it networking/referrals? Having "Harvard" on the resume? I'm also curious about the role of keywords in resumes. I've heard about someone who inserted numerous keywords in white font to trick resume screening software, resulting in multiple first-round interviews.
