sticky situation with gpa, please advise

i realize that companies don't like applicants with low gpas so i wanted to make this post to get some clarity on whether i should recruit banking at all or just focus on school
optimistically, i can achieve a 3.5 gpa maybe a 3.6 at the maximum before i recruit for banks. my worse grades mostly lie within my physics and math classes
i'm diversity and an engineering major at a target school on the west coast that is notorious for grade deflation (i realize banks probably don't care), and did my freshman summer internship at a startup
is it possible for me to recruit succesfully at banks like gs, evc, q, ms, etc. (top bbs and ebs) or would i only be considered by low mm banks, or no banks at all?
if i want to get into banking what should i do? should i abandon banking and pursue another career?
please advise. brutal honesty is appreciated
