VP called me a slur
MBA associate at a boutique bank
Today by VP called me a hateful slur (think words used to criticize the LGBTQIA+ community). I am planning to tell HR. Can this backfire on me?

Career Resources
If they are the type of person to use it in the workplace, likely isn’t the first time they said something stupid at work.
This guy said LGTBQIA+ LOL. Go kick rocks
Yeah so non-insluve
Proper form is 2SLGBTQIA+ plz fix
Oh hi Trudeau
.
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”
Now be honest. Were you being a whiny little f****t about something or did he just say it out of the blue with no context?
We have our answer. And it turns out it was in fact a she, not a he that perpetrated this grievous offense.
My question to the rest of you - Did OP deserve it?
LMAOOOO
This can't be it, South Park updated the vocabulary here over a decade ago
She called me it after I told her i wasn’t comfortable with her use of the “R word” at the office
Both parties in this instance sound pretty retarded then. And if you're the type to try and tell a superior to their face that you're not comfortable with how they're talking, then you kind of get what you get tbh.
If you're trolling, this is one of the best I've seen in a long time.
what is the "R" word
She sounds hot TBH
no way u went into banking thinking it was flowers and rainbows
Depends. How small is this boutique? Is this just one instance or has it happened multiple times? You're a new hire and depending on the culture and context, this could just as easily be seen as you being a thin-skinned child that will run to HR at the drop of a hat as something the VP might get disciplined for. You've got an MBA so you're at least mid-20s. People say mean things. Get over it, this is the real world not a classroom. If it becomes a pattern of behavior that you've got multiple instances of to reference then you've got an actual case, but if someone saying one off-color remark is enough to break your spirit then boy are you going to have a bad time in banking.
This is boutique of about 50 people. VP known for saying harmful stuff in the past, including the N word
If she's gotten past saying the N word and isn't black, then there is no way some new blood associate is going to rock her boat. She more than likely has got her high heels firmly planted on throat of someone in HR or someone senior with pull, and you're just going to get yourself tossed out on your ass if you try to take her on. Women who make it to senior positions in IB/PE tend to be more aggressive characters than most of the men in my limited experience.
Get the fuck out of here. No one believes this shit.
VP actually based. Know MDs who don't have balls like her
Kick rocks
LGBT?
Lettuce Gay Bacon and Tomato ?
It's actually Lettuce Guacamole Bacon Tomato
My favourite sandwich
That does sound good. Throw some red pepper on there.
In my country we jokingly call it LGTV
In Brazil, the joke goes LGTV HDMI+
First of
All you should definitely
Get this on record since it’s unacceptable to
Go that far especially for a so-called inclusive
Organization, so please for the love of CoD MW
Try to get some of this documented
bro wrote a free verse poem
Appreciated the time invested to make this
Sounds like your VP is pretty perceptive.
Record it and put it on twitter. She’ll be gone within a day
Idk sounds like girlboss material to me, putting some whiny associate in their place.
Exactly - remove some of that false sense of entitlement from the associate
VP is known to use the n word and you think reporting them for the r word or something else will result in anything?
woof
Sneaky good shitpost
Absolutely the wrong place to ask advice about this lol. Half of the comments are from insensitive goons who will tell you to "kick rocks" but will spend an hour writing a paragraph of why "diversity" is bad instead of working.
They make it sound like it’s because they think diversity recruiting is unfair, but it’s actually because they don’t want to be around n******, f******, bitches and insert slur for mexicans, native americans etc.
Yeah I mean, I think it would've been better if you put those in quotation marks bcos I had to do a double take lol
yes
I mean.....OP is kind of a regarded bundle of sticks. Have to agree with the VP on this one - drink a glass of Quickcrete and harden the fuck up...
What a whiny Gen Z comment. Develop a thick skin, crying to mommy isn’t endearing after you turn 10
Nice troll post lol u baited a lot of dumbasses
https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/off-topic/how-to-get-my-vp-fired
Well, this maybe isn't trolling then. Still funny af.
Oh I think OP is severely mentally ill and this the approach they've chosem
Or they're normal and this is an elaborate joke
sounds like you're both retarded
Why are so many people taking this rage-bait? Seems like they're projecting
What is the "R word?"
recession
I would spell it out for ya but the sissy mods would remove my comment. Too bad
# Sissy Mods
(It's the R word for people with genuine mental disabilities)
Was this the same VP you were talking about in your previous post?
My old boss once called me a f-ing regard over the phone after making the juniors work 3 days straight over a holiday weekend ending at 6am and back online at 8am every day. What can you do about it? Absolutely nothing. Lateral firms and destroy them in the exit interview is your best bet. If enough good talent leaves maybe they'll get the hint.
Your boss was right.
You should look into going on an Oceangate submarine trip to see the Titanic! I heard they're really fun!
Y’all are morons for believing my shit post 😂
People commenting now just see this:
Consensus seems like both the VP and OP aren’t really morally superior…
1) OP - good that you told her what you’re comfortable with and what you’re not comfortable with. But there probably was an issue with how you said it - were you whining or were you firm and factual? Big difference btw “omg don’t say that word that’s bad” vs “Hey I know you don’t mean it that way but some people (including me) might find it disrespectful”
2) Your VP sounds like she’s not in a good place mental health wise or she really despised the whole woke culture stuff, which is understandable. But there’s a clear difference btw fighting against what’s a clearly twisted and oppressing culture vs. just being spiteful.
Whatever the reason sounds like you and your VP both need a dose of mutual empathy.
Honestly this is great for you report them and hint to how you might go public they’ll instantly fire the VP and probably try and bribe you with a raise or promotion cause they don’t want you to sue
Imagine genuinely believing anyone in the general public is going to give a fuck about some MBA associate getting dunked on by a woman VP at their boutique bank.
