Job Search Letter

I am junior in college right now at a Canadian business school, and am of Greek descent. I speak the language fluently and will be working in IB there this summer. Is it odd if I send hand written letters/cover letters in Greek and English to C level executives in Canada/the US who are also Greek in order to seek a job opportunity? Trying to differentiate myself and stand out. I've asked a few people and have gotten mixed results.
