May 24 Grad Struggling to Find Job After Unsuccessful IB Internship - Seeking Advice
Hello everyone,
I previously interned at a BB, but unfortunately, I was not given a return offer. I still want to pursue a career in IB, so since then, I have been preparing and applying, but I haven't had any luck. At this point, I have given up on getting something in FT in IB before I graduate. Since January, I have been applying to all adjacent roles or anything that might be relevant and helpful, but now with graduation less than 50 days away, I am panicking. I have no clue what to do and where to start. I have been reworking my resume, tailoring it to the roles and trying my best, but it's been hard getting any role. At best, I have gotten a few interviews since January, but most just ghost me, and some let me know that they have paused recruiting. I am not sure what to do, and I have spent so much time preparing for IB that I feel like I am completely lost on how the rest of the market works. I have been reaching out to people and applying, but I am really stressed. The goal was to find something adjacent to IB so I could break in eventually, but now I just want a job.I am also an orphan (not stating this for sympathy), so unlike my peers who can go back home and keep applying for jobs, I can't. I quite literally need to find out where I am going to live after graduation and other practical issues. feeling really lost,
I gradaute in may
Hope you get a break soon. Don't quit trying!
