Salary - Hoping someone may be here to help
Hi everyone,
I have spent a lot of time on the website and the forums but have been unable to find an answer to my question and I'm hoping someone here may be able to help?
I have worked in PWM for nearly seven years at two top IB. The majority of my time working in PWM was in the UK. I have now moved back to the US and am again looking for a job. I have top qualifications in the UK but none (Series 7 etc) here, though I understand I would only need to take supplemental exams in the US and I have no worries I will be able to pass them quickly.
My question is - what kind of a salary should I be looking for (base + bonus)? I was an associate and relationship manager at my last job and I managed my own HNW clients. Everything I see on the boards generally is talking about entry level salaries, which seem to be around $60 - $70k. Any ideas of what I should be looking for with my experience? I am female, mid-30's and I am in the Mpls/St. Paul area. I would be willing to consider work at either a BB or a boutique.
If I may also ask a second question - what is the standard holiday time received here in the industry? I was getting six weeks at my job in the UK and I suspect I will not get that here. I'd just like to get a general idea of these things so I know what to look for when I'm on interviews.
I will be happy to answer any questions you may have and will also forward on my resume to anyone interested. :)
Thank you in advance.
No where near 6 weeks so I hope you enjoyed it while you had it haha. Have you contacted the US offices of the company for which you worked in the UK? That may be a good place to start and if they don't have anything available, they might be able to point you in the right direction. As far as salary, I am sure there are other people here that can give you a much better idea than I would be capable of but my understanding is, at the point where you are, you would need to either come in with your own book, or start developing one in order to generate income.
What the hell do you guys do for 6 weeks ?
