Should a physics grad go for finance?
I am a soon-to-be physics graduate from Munich. I studied at one of the top-ranked universities in Germany (TUM) with upper quartile grades, did an entrepreneurship program at my university&finance club, and did one internship at a large german semiconductor company.
=> What do you think about getting a Ph.D. in physics? A waste of time&energy or serious opportunity to increase hard/quant skills?
=> What do you think of a career in the semiconductor industry? Super large corporate structures with little chance of serious earning potential (Large teams, little to no personal performance bonus, old corp structures) or an industry with a bright future and good working conditions?
=> Where do you think somebody with my profile would fit best in finance? Quant researcher roles, deep tech venture funds, or something else? What would it take to qualify for these roles?
=> What do you think of Munich as a city?

Being involved into intresting/cutting edge projects, having a somewhat dynamic work environment with smart and motivated colleagues and have the prospect for a real career would be the main points I would be looking for (or ,,want") in a career.
