Small AM Firm to HF Career Path Advice

Summary: What is the fastest path to go from a junior year internship at a small AM firm to working towards PM at a HF?

I am currently a junior studying CS and Econ at an Ivy (non-HYP) with an internship at a $5 bn AUM AM firm. Got interested in finance late after losing interest in tech, getting burnt out from leetcode, and realizing that I probably didn't have a single CS major friend for a reason. What should I do to set myself on track to getting a role at a HF that could lead to being a PM?

The way I see it, I have 3 options:

  1. Getting a return offer, working at the same firm after graduation and then applying directly for positions at HFs and/or getting an MBA

  2. Trying to get a fulltime AM offer somewhere else with better exit ops and then getting an MBA or applying to HFs from there

  3. Trying to get a fulltime offer in IB and then getting an MBA (would be hard because internship has very little to do with IB)

Which of these 3 would be most realistic, or is there something completely different I should do?
