What are my chances for landing an entry level job at a bulge bracket bank?

I am going into senior year of undergrad at a non-target school (a few firms and banks recruit for a couple of front office positions but it is very limited). I am majoring in Economics and I have a 3.5 GPA. I could not get the big time internships at the largest firms/banks that lead to a full time offer. However, I have interned at 2 local investment firms (One had $350 mil AUM and the other had just over $1 bil AUM) as an investment research analyst. I would design and implement stock screens on a Bloomberg terminal as well as conduct quantitative and qualitative research on stocks, bonds, and preferred shares to make Buy, Sell, or Hold recommendations.

Do I stand a chance at landing an entry level job in S&T or Asset Management at a major bank/firm? Or could they care less about my experience and dismiss me just because of my school and GPA? What can I do to improve my chances?

Please do not sugar coat your answers.

You should look at the top all-time content on this site and Mergers and Inquisitions. There's people who used to be homeless, and Navy SEALS, and back-office nontargets, and 2.X GPAs, and non finance majors who got front-office roles.

The advice you always hear on this site is: have a good story, network well and make real connections, polish your technicals, and hope you get really lucky. That's what I'm doing, and hopefully it'll work out.

The majority of entry level positions will be filled by the company's interns that receive FT offers, so there may not be a ton of openings. That being said, networking your ass off can make it possible.
