What to do next?

Hi WSO community,

As the title suggests, I'm a bit puzzled at the moment and would love to hear what you have to say about the matter.

I'm currently finishing my second MSc in finance in London from a semi-target, have already one year-ish of IB internship experience from a bank back in my home country (Europe), speak 4 languages fluently and yet still struggle to get into IB/ER/Markets/CorpFin here in London. It's already mid-April and feel like there are no internships available anymore. Eg, I've been rejected by countless and recently one after the last round for an SA of an MM bank because the other candidate had worked on a deal in a specific industry - this is just to give some background info, not a complaint. It's no fun, but I know I'll get there.

Would anyone have a word of wisdom to share, or perhaps experienced the same difficulty in breaking into the industry here in London? I'd be grateful to read about other non-conventional routes also, as London's scene is completely different from where I'm from.

Thank you! :)

PS: I could register as diversity (LGBT+) but I don't think it's considered a real diversity in the industry from what I understood when applying/checking at diversity events lol.
