Which option is the best for a recent grad in MO?

Hey guys,

I graduated last year from a UK non-target and took a year out to work in research at a BB, before deciding to pursue a masters at a UK target. Throughout my year out I learnt that research wasn't for me but that I was interested in other FO roles (trading/structuring). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to land anything relevant whilst at the BB (due to the timing of off-cycles) and have taken an offer to do an internship in Market risk at an MM.

I’ve learnt the important of the recruitment process via SA and the risk of getting ‘trapped’ in MO.

Here are the main paths that I'm considering.

  1. Stay at MM and jump straight into Masters to hopefully find another internship in FO after graduation
  2. Stay at MM and delay my masters for summer internship eligibility ( this means staying in market risk for 10 months)

The dilemma for me is whether to take another year out for this eligibility. Is it worth delaying graduation to remain in a MO role to be able to apply for an SA? Or should I simply move on forward now that the ship has sailed instead of wasting time.

Appreciate all the help I can get!
