Tapered sleeves
I've heard and read in publications (i.e. GQ) of having a tailor taper the sleeves of your suitjacket/sports coat. When I went in an asked my tailor to do it, he looked as me as if I were about to commit a crime. In the end he refused to do it saying it would ruin the jacket. He is just an out of style old man?
Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with what is acceptable/necessary in a IBD/S&T job. Just figured aside from style forums that this would be a good place to ask something like this :).
I have never, ever heard of tapering the sleeves on a suit jacket, but maybe I am just an out of style old man.
Frankly I don't see the reasoning behind it, unless you only want to wear very tight barrel-cuffed shirts without a watch.
I would listen to your tailor.
