Bachelor in "Business Administration" or "Finance & Banking" for PE?

Hello guys, I'm from Germany and wanted to ask you which bachelor's degree is better for your career in private equity? Bachelor in Business Administration or Bachelor in Finance & Banking? My plan was the Bachelor in Business Administration and then the Master in Finance. My teacher told me but I have to do the Bachelor in Business Administration…

Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting.

But seriously it doesn’t matter. Focus on networking and pick up a copy of Rosenbaum and Pearl’s investment banking (yes I read that you said private equity not investment banking). Godspeed.

Would do finance straight from undergrad if possible. It’s not going to make a huge difference but it can help to land a few more interviews.

What universities are you considering for these courses? If you want to break into Finance in London, it heavily depends on the university that you are planning to attend in Germany.

If you go to WHU, Frankfurt School, University of Mannheim or Goethe University, you have all the possibilities in the world.

If you are going to study in Munich or Münster, two very well known and reputable universities in Germany, breaking into Finance in London is virtually impossible without a Masters degree at another university.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I plan to study at a private business school. Unfortunately, I don't have the financial means to study at a Target university. I have looked at German private equity companies and notice that there are many who have not studied at a Target University. If I should decide on the Bachelor BA, the plan was that I study the Master in Finance. I have to work in addition to my studies, so this will not be a full-time study but a study part-time. I am aware that I cannot make a career in a company like KKR, that is not the plan either. My teachers have different opinions, one says Bachelor in Ba and then Master in Finance, the next says Bachelor in Finance & Banking and then Master in Finance and in addition your CFA....

Thanks for the help
