Majority Recap vs. LBO
Hey guys, was looking at a PE firm's website and one of their portfolios said "Majority Recap" as the investment type. From my research I found that Majority recap is where the PE firm takes majority interest but the seller retains some interest.
Does this mean that a majority recap is the same thing as an LBO with rollover equity? or are they different in that majority recap doesn't necessarily require the involvement of leverage? Thanks in advance!
