It's a sweat shop that pays very low, long hours and noone appreciates your efforts. Seniors are really smart people, but not so much for juniors. Most of them are there because of connections, not because of how good they are. Culture is really bad, unless you are french Canadian, I wouldn't suggest working there.

Although, to be fair, it’s a great learning experience for someone looking for deal exposure. Deal flow is huge (2-3 CIMs per week, 1-2 LOIs per month, 5-10 acquisitions per year), and when you get staffed on a deal, you are on the deal team from start to finish. Deal teams usually comprises of a partner, a VP, an associate, an analyst and an intern, so you get a ton of exposure to the due diligence process at any level. Not a lot of shops do what they do in Canada, so it is a unique experience of some sorts. Too bad the culture sucks there.
