Updated Thoughts on Banneker Partners?

Can anyone familiar / know of them provide updated views on reputation, culture, etc? $550M second time fund whose founder was former Vista Equity exec with robert smith. Was approached about a senior analyst opportunity. Curious if I should throw my hat in the ring or continue to wait for MM / UMM offcycle though opportunities seem limited given market environment. Currently at a mid-tier BB

Obviously rest of the firm could be great so not an indictment of them overall, just this seemed silly. Good candidates have a number of options so I don’t think you benefit from doing something like this. More importantly though it just isn’t the right person to be conducting an interview or assessing. It makes sense if it’s to see what it’d be like to work under someone, but someone less experienced probably shouldn’t be asking the technicals and then judging the answers, etc. they’re also in this case not going to have enough professional experience to ask other good questions, know when to dig in and when to let up, and other intangibles

If I was hiring an associate or VP Id want to make sure he or she vibes with the analysts given how closely they work together. The last thing I want is someone who comes in, isn’t a great cultural fit and is the reason for analyst turnover. Also as an analyst you feel empowered and part of the team, rather than an unimportant, disposable employee which is too often the case in finance. Guess we can agree to disagree.
