If you're not a dumba$$, you will make money as a broker in a big city. Be fu@king mentally prepared.
I came from a fu@king zero, zilch, no money working class family. I ate shit for years as I paid my way through undergrad, and eventually grad school. I've seen and experienced some nasty shit in my life that I wouldn't want for my worst enemy. When I broke out into the investment sales scene, I was academically prepared, fu@king hungry and motivated, and stuck to a plan that worked. I worked my fu@king ass off lived cheap, and started making money.
When I start getting those huge direct deposits, it was like I had won the fu@king lottery. I had never in my life seen so much money. within a few years of graduation and a fuckton of 80 hour work weeks, I was making as much money as some CEO's. I knew that the right thing to do was to invest, and start making the right investment decisions. HOWEVER, I said I was only "Academically prepared". I was not emotionally and mentally prepared for this money. I went nuts with my money and spent it fulfilling my childhood dreams. While I fulfilled all of my childhood wants and desires, I also amplified all of childhood issues with all of this money.
So I'm writing this for any of you out there who are like me. Who grew up with nothing. Maybe you came from money but you never really had access to it. This message is intended for any of you. Here are my top 3 tips.
-
Get over yourself, and talk to a therapist because like I said, If you're not a complete fu@king dumbass you will make more money than you've ever seen and it will simply amplify all of your internal bullshit.
-
Get the fu@k away from toxic gold digging women. In fact, if you go on a date, take off you fucking swiss watch, wear regular looking clothes, and leave your fucking nice car in the garage. Take a fu@king UBER and don't let these toxic fu@king gold diggers into your fu@king space.

You might eventually figure out that there is more to life than just doing big fu@king deals. Start looking for deep meaning in your life aside from your work. Keep a meaningful hobby. Golf doesn't count, tennis doesn't count, something that truly makes a direct impact on others and the people around you.
Thanks
Jordan Belfort made more than he knew what to do with. Eventually, it just feels like Monopoly monies. You have to find somewhere to put it all, like into a project or business, so it doesn’t feel like that anymore.
Title: Check Out How Sick I Am and Mistakes to Avoid If You Also Become This F@CKING Sick
This is such a lame fu@king post
weird brag but ok
You can say fuck here
It's more visually appealing to write it that way. It causes the reader to double think about the meaning of the word....Just like you just subconsciously did.
What duck is this and why doth it fu@k?
According to this forum everyone who gets in with a big brokerage shop in a major market can make at least $1m per year if they put their head down and work their ass off. I think this assumption is hilarious, and does nothing to account for the fact that a substantial majority of all people in investment sales that go 100% commission wash out.
Then you have to question why they wash out. Usually they don’t have the real drive and hunger to make it happen. They will take weekends off to hang out or they have someone backing them which gives them a psychological and literal safety net. These are the most common reasons I’ve seen. For others, they figure out pretty quickly that it’s not for them and they go do something else. When I say drive I really mean it. I’m talking 6-7 days a week living and breathing the business. Many of the brokers who I know that washed out couldn’t take the level of commitment and drive that it actually takes to make 7 figs. Declining every single one of your friends on a Friday or Saturday night because you’re working on some pitch book, crunching some numbers, or prepping for next week isn’t for everyone. Also, just like any other business, you need start up capital otherwise even the most talented broker will not get a lot of traction. So yes, it’s possible to make money if you’re not a dumbass.
This is a terrible take, and anyone reading this should highly discount this comment above.
This screams of Tai Lopez esque marketing tatics.
Oh, if you don’t believe me, you can go find an interview of Bob Knakal where he says this is an at minimum 12 hour a day job. Investment sales has a lower barrier of entry than investment banking but a significantly higher level of entry to make real money. Most can’t hang. Get back on the phones!!!
I really appreciate this post. Even as someone who came from a substantial amount of money, its motivating to hear success stories. I appreciate the advice and hope you keep the content coming. Thanks
If you have issues, money alone won't solve them. Counseling can be useful whether you are dealing with issues or working to maximize your potential. It is generally a good idea to find fulfillment outside of work and equally advisable to avoid women who only want money if your goal is a long term relationship.
And sorry, fu@k did not trigger an insightful conversation about the word fuck, it just annoyed me and I thought it would have been better if you either said fuck or left it out. Otherwise, I appreciated the message you were trying to convey.
control yourself. this immature id-run attitude is why people don't respect the majority of brokers. thanks for setting us back with this post
you've come a long way from asking for M&M training materials. hope you found this cathartic
You might want to double down with that therapist. You've got some real issues to work through.
No one gives a shit where you came from, they care even less about what you're making, and no one is impressed with all the nice suits you wear or the gold diggers you date. Here's a newsflash - wearing regular clothes or driving a cheap car doesn't matter if all you care about is money. That attitude tells a woman (or anyone) more than whatever you're wearing will. If you're humble and have priorities other than money, you can wear a Patek or drive a BMW and it won't matter, you'll find a woman who shares your values. If all you care about is the material wealth you've gained, then you can dress that up in whatever dross you want, but you'll find a partner with the same shallow values as you.
That a nice little rant but wholly untrue. An attrition rate of 90% over 5 years in the NYC brokerage industry proves that just does not hold water.
"You're probably wondering how I got here..."
