Prestige in REPE Europe

I was wondering how prestige is viewed in REPE in Europe. As mainly people are talking about the American markets (and their REPE 100 rankings). For instance I am eyeing two firms, Hines & CBRE IM. I know from the forums Hines is a big player in the States, but in the Netherlands it gets absolutely dwarfed by CBRE IM in terms of AUM. Will it make any difference for my career if I choose a firm with more AUM?

Honestly I would choose Hines over CBRE IM any day of the week. They may have less AUM in the Netherlands, but the prestige and the strength of the brand is not comparable. Also, it's easier for a core investor to have more AUM compared to a developer like Hines.

Even when the difference is 200-300 million vs 40-50 billion, additionally I know CBREs office for their main European fund lies in the Netherlands for continental Europe. Regardless it should be fine wherever I start my internship right for long term career prospects?
