Any advice greatly appreciated
I enjoy reading the articles/forums on this site and it seems like there are some pretty intelligent people who post here. I am hoping some of them can provide me with some advice and constructive criticism.
I am looking to obtain a position in back office financial operations similar to the role I had while I was with JP Morgan. I left that job due to the fact that I moved and could no longer make the commute. I then made the mistake of taking a position focused on sales. I am now finding it more challenging than I had originally expected trying to get back into a financial ops position.
I am aware of the fact that the summary is frowned upon here. I have been urged by a couple recruiters as well as some of the people I previously worked with that I should have one for the type of position I'm seeking and since I am making a career field change.
Also, I tried to minimize the fact that I hold a sales position now to an extent as I feel this could be one of my resume's main issues. Should I try and minimize it some more? Do you guys see any other red flags that i can/should change?
Sorry for the long write up and thanks for the help.
Looks fine to me.
I personally think a qualifications summary does more harm than good. I would rather see a SKILLS section below experience with everything just listed rather than a paragraph of crap.
Looks fine, only thing I can see to change is put education at top also like "yeahright" said summary does more harm than good, dont think anyone wants to read a wall of text like that when reviewing resumes, a cover letter is a different story though.
Change the summary at the top to an "Additional Info" or "Skills & Other" section at the bottom. If you're a real OG, go straight with just experience and education.
