ESCP MiM in London Opinions?
I’m an undergrad student in finance in an Italian university and I just got admitted to the MiM program at ESCP, starting my first semester in London. My goal is to get into IB, so I thought that a 2 year master would help me gaining experience with a summer internship in between the two years. While looking for masters I read about the contrasting options on ESCP and their MiM, but I yet have to understand the reasoning behind it. Imo while it is true that brands like HEC and Bocconi, or LSE and Oxbridge in the UK, have surely a better reputation (duh), I constantly see people from ESCP in many high finance roles in London and elsewhere. I may be wrong but I think that this program cohort is usually very diverse so not everyone that studies there wants to go into finance, let alone IB, but it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t provide a solid network.
I may not even go to ESCP as I have other options available and I’m still in time to make my decision, so I’m willing to accept any opinion regarding my pov. I think that having the possibility to study in London would still be a great opportunity to network and land an internship there.
ESCP MiM is a relatively easy and relaxed program yet has quite good career outcomes. Depends how much you want to study/learn...
That’s another concern I read about. Would you say that a more intensive master would be better? I personally see it as an opportunity to use more time to network and learn about subject I’m interested in, or practice with modeling/excel etc. The more I dive into this world the more it looks like someone with a greater network and knowledge about the industry will always beat a 4.0 GPA student with a weaker network. People get into this industry with BAs in History/Philosophy after all.
