i thought it'd be like getting into a 4 year college...where if your good enough u can get a scholarship....guess im wrong lol

There aren't really merit-based scholarships to top b-schools. Instead, they're based entirely on need (it's possible there's a few exceptions, but it's not like undergrad where some schools essentially buy high SAT scores).

That being said, you'd be far better off going to the absolute best b-school you can get into, regardless of the cost, rather than settling for a lesser one that gives you a scholarship. You'll make plenty of money in banking when you finish, so don't worry about the cost, get go 100k into debt and you'll be fine.

you can get scholarships both full or partial but it won't be a top 10 school. some bottom tier 1 schools might give scholarships to attract high gmat scores to boost their rankings. but i'd go with waltermb's advice of getting into the best bschool possible and signing a hefty bonus.

you can get a "scholarship" of sorts for some top 10 B-schools. I know 2 friends that had this. 1 ended up at Wharton but was awarded some type of scholarship that would have reduced his expenses at Columbia by around $10k.

I had another friend that is going to HBS but was offered a scholarship from Wharton that would have saved him approx. $35k.

I am pretty sure these were not "need" based...the b-school probably reserves the right to name a few of its incoming students (top 5%?) an "X Scholar" and give them some compensation if they choose to attend such school.
