SHOULD I DO THIS MINOR?
Im an international freshman at a top target who is currently studying economics. I know that usually for finance jobs they dont care too much about your major but then again I do feel like they prefer stem students with math-y hard sciencey majors. i was thinking of getting a minor in "statistics and machine learning" to make my resume stand out more from the gazillion econ majors and sound more impressive but i wouldnt wanna end up risking a good gpa/easy a's over it. As an international student please keep in mind I do have higher stakes, but still please let me know what you advise I should do considering you have more knowledge than me.
Wow I really misread that title
I cant stop laughing I just realized my fault
I know this site is full of questionable people and it STILL threw me so off guard
title is crazy
Bad. Risk gpa for stem classes no one cares about.
Underrated comment. Neither Major nor Minor matter for recruiting purposes. Only if you are doing something quant related which OP would have already figured out.
Title here applies more to 7th year associates than some college undergrad
What the hell is a 7th year associate? Seems oddly specific
Don’t get caught!
Princeton? If so, then no.
Won't I have a disadvantage to my peers in stem? Since they are also at princeton but harder major. Or once youre at this level of target they dont care?
This is an extremely broad generalization that very possibly may not apply to you, but econ majors here tend to struggle in stats, linalg, and coding classes. Even some of the intro ones.
I personally did a double major (Finance & RMI) and a minor in mathematics. Honestly, it makes you sound smart to normal people, but banks don’t seem to care much. Not worth doing a minor if it’ll hurt your GPA
Yeah, and hurry. She ain’t getting any younger
Pause bro. U gotta be more precise with ur wording with topics like this lmao
Tempora culpa sunt sed harum molestias nisi consequatur. Sit delectus hic voluptas temporibus. Qui asperiores aspernatur rem velit consequatur esse quasi quos.
