Where to go from here: 730 GMAT (45Q 46V)

Hi everyone,

Looking for advice on my current situation, especially with regards to my GMAT. Recently took the exam and got a 730 with subscores Q45 and V46 and am looking to a apply for the following schools:

LSE: MSc in Finance and MSc in Accounting & Finance
Oxford: MFE
Imperial: MSc in Finance
HEC: MIF
LBS: MFA

I am strongly considering re-taking the GMAT because of the Quant score, unless advised otherwise and would like to know if my current score basically rules me out at all of those schools. Given my background I should be able to score higher on Quant, unsure why it turned out the way it did but look forward to hearing what you guys think!

More info on my profile below:
3.97 GPA in a BSc in Mathematics and Finance from a T50 U.S. school
International Experience (Continental European National studying in the US)
Worked as an Off-Cycle Analyst at a boutique IB in the US
Held a Summer Analyst Role at a Mid-Market Investment Bank in my home country
Incoming Intern at an EB London
ECs include high-performance athletics and participation in clubs

Yeah I figured the MFE was gonna be a bit of a reach. You reckon I should invest the time to try to improve the quant score or is the total high enough to outweigh that? Mainly worried I’ll be discarded right away due to the low Q score.

if ur goal is IB/PE, not worth the effort could get same placements at LSE or LBS with ur profile (im from one of the two and people with relatively strong CVs went to really strong firms)

but to your point yes MFE cares a lot about ur quant score - most have 49+ Q

if you want to talk specifics about admissions / recruiting happy to chat over PM, just graduated recently
