A-level grades
As 1st year student at Durham University with an ambition to get into sales and trading, I was wondering how important A-level grades are. I recieved AAB and was wondering whether that is enough.

Take what I say as a pinch of salt since I'm literally the year below you haha. However from what I've gathered online and from friends in IB; if you have great depth of knowledge and understanding of your choice of industry, as well as a clear passion, they couldn't give a fuck what a levels you have. Getting an interview may be slightly harder than someone with better A-Levels, but it's what you can bring to the table not what your grades can bring to the table. Just remember, a good uni and a good set of grades will only get you an interview. After that it's entirely about you. And once you get an interview; as long as you haven't commited war crimes or turned up butt-naked, you've got just of good of a chance as anyone else!!
ABB is the minimum so yes, AAB is enough.

Was also wondering if you think I'd have a disadvantage studying BSc Finance for S&T compared to a hardcore stem subjecy
I would argue more and more yes. Banks delving into more exotics and coding becomes an increasing focus so STEM is preferred.
However, plenty of non-STEM people still get in every year.
For sales you're fine. For trading you are at a disadvantage.
