Colorado, anyone?

I am looking to be a trader in NYC after graduation (got the SA gig, just gotta convert it), and as much as I love the city, I'd really like to end up in Colorado at some point. Does anyone know if there are opportunities for traders in Colorado? Maybe trading-style hedge funds? Legit prop firms (e.g., SIG, Getco) ? Random desks from BBs? Doesn't seem to much information about it on this board. It's not really an immediate concern, but just curious if there are places other than NYC/Chicago that I could end up living if I stick with this.

I know there are HF in Colorado, probably a few asset management places where you could be a trader. I don't think any BB are there...99.99% positive.

"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."

I've heard of Natural Gas, Coal, and Power traders operating out of Colorado. Not necessarily BB's, but in commodities trading people are much less caught up in the "Bulge Bracket" phenomenon that permeates other products.

I would love nothing more than to leave the east coast and trade comm in Denver. Colorado is a beautiful state, you're lucky to be there.

And yes, Denver is def. a pocket of liquidity for the commodities markets and an emerging HF city.

Best of luck to you

If you couldn't glean from my post above, I'm originally from Colorado. I'll be heading to NYC to start FT at a BB this summer, so I was wondering: How often have you other monkeys run into people from Colorado working on Wall Street? I know CO is virtually non-existent on the radar for recruiting (although Dick Fuld is a CU alumni and I know Lehman would recruit there from time to time), but I"m curious how many people who are from CO, or went to school in the state, end up on Wall Street?. Also, for those of you working in New York, what is the general perception (i.e. stereotype) of people from Colorado (as you guys have seen or experienced)? And if any of you other monkeys are from Colorado, let me see a shout out!
