Felony Record about to be expunged advice on how to get into IB or S&T?

I'm seeking advice on how to switch careers into IB/S&T. I have a bachelor's in Finance from a state school and I'm 3 classes away from finishing my master's in Computer Science from a Top 10 university.

In the time of my probation / expungement process, I worked at a boutique crypto market-making firm not doing much tbh. Then most of my time at a smaller Crypto exchange doing research, trading, and marketing.

I have always wanted to work on wallstreet in either IB or S&T. What are my chances of getting in this late in time with no relevant experience? I could aim to do an MBA at top 10 but i'd be probably 30 by the time i finish so I would prefer not to do that.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Honestly your chances are extremely slim. The process is difficult as is so I would try but mostly avoid BB’s. I think smaller shops would find your journey very interesting and if you can demonstrate competence your chances may be better suited there. I think in your case your best bet to get your foot in the door is to really sell yourself.

Goes to non-target disregard what he says.

Stay in crypto and hope it comes back tbh. Does expunge mean whenever you interview and they ask have you ever been convicted of a felony you can theoretically lie and say no and they won't be able to find it? Or will it pop up in a background check. If it's the latter then you're fucked in finance and should stay in crypto and hopefully hop to other startup type crypto firms maybe non-US.

Top 10 CS masters but has a felony, that sucks for you man. I'd honestly aim for the crypto MM's abroad and maybe down the line with a solid track record/book of risk you can hop to different firms on their crypto teams.
