How do I break in?

I'm a senior, graduating in 2011. Have a good gpa and am currently interning at a bank wealth management shop.

I've been looking for people who can give me a little direction/help on breaking into this field and everyone just seems dumbfounded. Aside from applying online and not getting noticed how can I break into a real S&T gig? Checking my firm's website it seems like most of their NA graduate programs are already past the application due date. I can apply to SE Asia jobs in S&T but I'm not sure if the bank I'm interning at even offers visas for international applicants. I've got good leads on Russell and DA Davidson but does anyone have any advice or recommendations for someone trying to break in from the west side? My boss is willing to put in a recommendation but I'm not even really sure where to target that at to get the most out of it.
I don't really care what type of desk I'm on or even where I go.

Have you tried reaching out to alumni and trying to get them to pass your CV on to HR?

Yea, been doing that quite a bit. That reminds me that I should take a look again and see if I can find anyone new though. Thanks.

edit: Should I be using a CV over a resume? Here's the thing ... I'm a second-time student. In other words I transfered schools after dropping out (upgraded) so I'm basically blowing through core classes and don't have a lot of extra curriculars or relevant experience. I don't really feel like my resume stands out at all because other than ok grades and the wealth management internship I don't have much. Should I use my own trading as relevant experience? I have other work experience for instance, I used to work at amazon.
