JP Morgan Short Term Fixed Income Strategy (US Interest Rates) Analyst
Saw this on LinkedIn, is this just fixed income research on an FICC desk? How hard is it to get into a job like this?

Sounds like a pure research role. Probably very little contact with FICC sales or trading desks as an analyst.
Quite literally zero contact, because they actually separate FICC research and S&T onto separate floors to prevent front-running / manipulation, employees physically can't access the floor they don't work on.
to everyone giving me MS, rates sales and trading is on the 7th floor, rates research is on the 10th.
any idea what the comp scale/exit opps for a role like this are--and what type of qualifcations are needed to get a job like this?
At my bank this isn’t true. Strategists sit next to traders and sales. They talk with traders giving opinions and join sales on calls or work on requests from sales clients
not true. at JPM, research sat next to the traders and worked together very closely
Confusing this with ER buddy..quite literally these strats guys are for S&T to leverage with opinions and conversations lol
