RESUME ASSESSMENT - Sophmore at an elite college
Hello everyone,
I have never posted something on this site, but a couple of days ago, I got the following resume on my table, and I wanted to know what people think about it:
XXX is a sophomore, does his first two years at an elite college (HarvardYalePrincetonStanfordWharton), 4.0/4.0 GPA, Top 1% of class, SAT IIs are 770/800/800; major in business, minor in Genetics; began studying economic law at law school at the age of 16 in addition to graduating from high school as one of the best in his country; received his first offer from GS Equities at age 18 (!), interned there after his freshman year, created various new stock screening models; placed 4th internationally in a securitized derivatives trading competition where he developed an interesting trading technique using tracking stop-loss orders that somehow move togehter with strong trendlines (don't nail me on the details here); just left HYPS for Europe where he founded his own company in real-estate trading; varsity-level tennis player with dozens of first places in tournaments; semifinalist in his country's Math Olympiad Program and countless other academic awards.
How can this be possible for a person not yet 20?????
same answer. i'd interview and grill him.
His name wouldnt happen to be Alexsky Varner?
No, that is not his name, and I am certainly not going to comment on any personally identifiable information.
do you actually believe he did all these things?
and why isn't he going back to goldman?
Why is he applying to work for established firms instead of using his award winning research, his own compnay and his supposed talent to make a fortune independently?
If it's true...wow
Exactly...
Call Mr. Stephen Hawkings...throw him some twisters and see if he's genuine. It's hard to believe all this for a kid.
just too much
i can believe it. there are ridiculous people out there.
I wouldn't be surprised if he had Asperger's Syndrome along with his genius though.
What is this syndrome about, ahmeng??
I wonder if his daddy helped him in all of this...
I am the genius to whom you so refer!
Bow down to my great glory my fellow animals!
bull shit
I don't think an interview would clarify all of this. Maybe an independent background check and a call to his previous employers/professors would be better.
Many of the things you listed go together. I doubt he would have gone to top 5 school without said SAT score, tennis abilities, etc.. It's not really that unusual. There are a few people at each school like that. It's resume-building to the extreme that's all.
Can the OP give an update?
We gave him an offer in credit derivatives trading - thought that would be the best fit for someone like him.
Has he accepted the offer?
