Most of the BB S&T desks in Toronto are just coverage desks doing equity research sales and are very small teams and not expanding. I can only recall CS consistently having an SA program for equity research sales in Toronto, but that is for 12 months and not just the summer. However BAML has some CAD rates trading in Toronto, pretty sure they take SAsGS has commodities trading (oil, gas, power) in Calgary iirc and hires one SA (not Toronto, but still Canada). Any particular reasons for targeting US BB S&T in Toronto vs Big 5 in particular? US BB S&T in Toronto is quite small and does not bring much in variety of roles compared to Big 5 S&T.

Thanks for the colour.  Was looking at BB's as I believe the pay is higher than Big 5 (USD rates converted to CAD) and there might be a higher probability of lateraling to a US office.  Correct me if I'm wrong in any of these points, though.

Yes pay is higher (partially from the exchange rate but also because bonuses are bigger, at least at the analyst level). Not too sure about the higher probability of lateralling to a US office, I would say it's just slightly higher.

Hey, thanks for the reply.  Do you know when apps normally come out?  If it's a 12 month co-op starting in May, would Canadian recruiting start in Septemberish?
