What is frustrating about Leveraged Loans?

Hi chimps - I'm currently doing a research project and trying to get smart about the leveraged loans space. I don't work in that market on a daily basis, but my understanding is that it's quite "dinosaur" esq from speaking to some leverage loan traders, investors, ops people, etc.

If you work in loans,

  • What do you do? (trader, credit HF, originator, issuer, ops, etc.)
  • What do you find frustrating?
  • Why are things the way they are?
  • How could they be better?

It would be awesome if this became a thread amongst folks in the space, but if you're open to chatting on the phone or grabbing a coffee in NYC, shoot me a PM!
