I just applied - do you think it's too late? I have a network at SB but you said you got the coffee chat so I feel like it's too late to even get an interview

Trivial question but why do banks recruit for winter 2024 internships after summer 2024 despite them actually occurring earlier than the latter?

Summer internships are more competitive since they happen outside of regular school semesters and receive a significantly higher rate of return offers. They get recruited first since banks/firms are competing for talent.

I applied and got the assessment 12 hours later telling me it's due Nov 28 — I'm assuming it's automated. But then I got another email from HR like 3 hrs ago telling me to do it ASAP to move forward in the process, and was signed off by someone in HR this time. You think the second one was automated as well?

In the process with them atm - believe some offers have been sent out as the commenter below mentioned, but there are still some spots in Toronto/Vancouver; hiring should wrap up by midweek.
