To my knowledge they do a lot of PMO (project management) work as well as some performance improvement type work. In conjunction with the PMO work they will support some of the folks from other groups within Accenture on decks, meetings, etc. Definitely a cool place to be to interact a fair amount with the other groups within the company so if someone found out they didn't like the "consulting" practice then they could likely network into one of the other ones.

The performance improvement is largely optimizing technology platforms or helping to integrate new ones to improve functions. I've heard they are kind of a generalist role to help implement what something like Accenture Strategy might recommend.

My take on this comes from my conversations with Accenture Consulting employees who I have networked with.
